Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care

The Spiritual Care Department at Franciscan Children's consists of interfaith chaplains whose role is to attend to the emotional and spiritual needs of our patients, families and staff. They provide compassionate care to anyone seeking support, regardless of their religious connection or affiliation.

Services provided by our chaplains may include:

  • Spiritual and emotional support
  • Bedside visits with patients and families
  • Deep listening
  • Meditation and prayer
  • Consultation on religious or ethical questions
  • Sacraments and rituals, when requested
  • Connections with spiritual communities, when requested

Chaplains are available Monday through Friday,
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., or by appointment.

Chaplains can also be reached 24/7 for emergencies by calling
617-254-3800 and ask the operator for the on-call chaplain.
