Franciscan Children’s is committed to respecting and protecting the rights of its patients and families. We strive to provide care sensitive to culture, race, religion, gender, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, source of payment, and national origin.

Franciscan Children’s follows both State and Federal patient rights and regulations. For minors and patients unable to make decisions, these rights are upheld by the parent/legal guardian, except for patients under eighteen years old who are legally emancipated.

Furthermore, every Medicare beneficiary who is admitted as an inpatient will receive a standardized notice titled “An Important Message from Medicare” upon admission and within two days of discharge. It is essential for the Medicare beneficiary to review, sign, and date this document. As a recipient of Medicare, you possess the right to address any concerns regarding the quality of care or services with the patient representative.
